Buckinghamshire Secondary Transfer Test

One shared 11+ test used by all 13 Buckinghamshire grammar schools for Year 7 entry. A standardised score of 121 or above makes a child eligible to be considered for a grammar school place, which is then allocated under each school's admissions policy.

Produced by GL Assessment. Two papers, each about 60 minutes including an introduction and practice examples, sat on the same day: one tests verbal skills, the other mathematical and non-verbal skills. A separate practice test is sat a couple of days earlier.

Children from outside the area

Yes. Children at state-funded Buckinghamshire primary schools are entered automatically; children attending a partner school or any other school outside Buckinghamshire (including Milton Keynes) must be registered through Buckinghamshire Council's registration service.
