The Medway Test
The Medway Test is Medway's 11+, which children must sit to be considered for a Medway grammar school. Being assessed as suitable for grammar does not guarantee a place, as oversubscribed schools use their own admission criteria.

- Three papers written specifically for Medway Council by GL Assessment: English (30 minutes: comprehension, punctuation, grammar), Mathematics (50 minutes) and Reasoning (45 minutes: spatial/non-verbal reasoning and verbal reasoning). At least a 20 minute break between papers. No resits or remarks.

- Yes. A child can take the Medway Test whether they live in Medway or not, but must sit it at a Medway Council test venue in Medway. Children from non-Medway schools test on Saturday 19 or Sunday 20 September 2026. The test is not available to children living outside the UK.
