Visit, then register (ideally a year ahead); the current school is asked for information. Reception: no formal assessment, a visit in the Summer term. Years 1–6: informal taster/assessment day with literacy and numeracy tasks, usually in Spring. Senior Years 7 and 9: entrance papers in Verbal Reasoning, English and Mathematics, usually in November the year before. Sixth Form: reports, predicted grades and a meeting with the Head of Sixth Form.
